Website Tracking lets you see which companies are visiting your site, which pages they’re engaging with, and where they are in their buyer journey. With this data, you can:
- Spot high-intent prospects in real time.
- Understand which content is driving interest.
- Send these insights directly into your sales and marketing workflows.
Before you start:
- You’ll need Admin access to your Lead Onion account.
- You’ll need access to your website’s code or a developer/web admin who can help.
- The tracking code must be added to every page you want to track.
How to set up Website Tracking:
- Log in to your account.
- Go to Website > Settings.
- Copy your unique Tracking Code.
- You’ll see a code snippet that looks like this:
- Paste the code into your website’s <head> section, just before the closing </head> tag.
- If you use a CMS (like WordPress, HubSpot, Wix, or Squarespace), check your theme or site settings for where to add code snippets.
- (Optional) If you don’t have direct access, click “Email to your web admin” in the platform to send them the instructions and tracking code directly.
What happens next:
- Once installed, tracking begins immediately.
- You’ll start seeing website visitor insights in your dashboard within a few hours.
- Company-level visitor data will appear under Website Intent.
Troubleshooting:
- No data after 24 hours?
- Make sure the code is installed on all pages.
- Check for duplicate code snippets — only one should be installed.
- Verify that ad blockers or browser extensions aren’t blocking scripts.
- Contact our support team and we will review.
- Using Google Tag Manager?
- Add the tracking code as a Custom HTML Tag and publish the container.
