Cadence settings give you full control over how and when your outreach steps are executed. By configuring timing, delays, sending windows, and limits, you can ensure your cadences run smoothly, stay compliant, and feel natural to your prospects.
General Settings
- Cadence Owner → Defines who owns and manages the cadence.
- Cadence Success Goal → Choose the key outcome (e.g. Meeting Booked, Won Deal) to measure success.
- Delivery Schedule → Decide if emails should be sent weekdays only (Mon–Fri) or every day.
- Cadence Type → Select whether the cadence is Private (only you can use it) or Team (shared with your team).
- If a User Has Opted Out of Calls → Choose what happens (remove from call steps, close the deal, or delete).
- If a User Doesn’t Have a Phone Number → Decide whether to exclude from call steps or leave them in the cadence.
- Email Timezone Send → Send emails in the prospect’s timezone (recommended) or your own dashboard timezone.
Timing & Delays
- End of Cadence Settings → Decide what happens when a deal reaches the end of a cadence (e.g. mark as finished, recycle into a list).
- Step Delays → Each cadence step can be set to trigger X days or minutes after the previous step. This ensures a natural, staggered flow rather than overwhelming your prospect.
- Reply/Activity Triggers → When a prospect replies, opens, or clicks, you can trigger instant actions such as removing them from the cadence, adding them to another cadence, or moving them to a workflow.
Sending Limits & Throttling
- Cadence Throttling → Control how many prospects can be added to a cadence at once.
- Example: Limit onboarding to 100 contacts per day even if the cadence allows thousands.
- Email Sending Limits → When using Bulk Sending, limits are set by tier (500, 1,000, or 2,000 emails per day). Standard Gmail/Outlook sending is limited to ~35 per day.
- Warm-Up Periods → For bulk email sending, new mailboxes require a 7-day warm-up before full volume is available.
Best Practices
- Use weekday schedules for B2B outreach to align with working hours.
- Stagger delays between steps for natural touchpoints (e.g. 2–3 days between emails).
- Always send in prospect’s timezone to maximise open and reply rates.
- Throttle onboarding to avoid overwhelming your team with too many active contacts at once.
FAQs
Can I change cadence settings after launch?
Yes, but changes only apply to future steps — completed steps remain as they were.
What happens if a prospect replies mid-cadence?
If reply follow-up is activated, the contact will be automatically removed from the cadence and handled based on your chosen rule.
Do sending limits apply per user or per domain?
Bulk sending limits apply per domain. Standard individual mailbox limits are enforced by Gmail/Outlook per user.
Why is throttling important?
Throttling ensures consistent follow-up and prevents your sales team from receiving too many tasks at once.
